During a meeting at the Vatican on April 26, French President Emmanuel Macron notably refused to shake the outstretched hand of US President Donald Trump.
A video of the interaction shows Macron greeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warmly, but when Trump extended his hand for a handshake, Macron did not respond and instead withdrew his own hand, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The French president's actions have sparked speculation. The snub could be linked to an earlier incident. Trump had declined to join Macron in negotiations with President Zelenskyy, which were held in the Vatican. Initially, three chairs were set up in the meeting room for the talks, but one was later removed, leading to further questions about the dynamics of the encounter.
