Viktor Strigunov, former First Deputy Head of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya), has been detained on charges of abuse of power and bribery, a law enforcement source has said.
According to the source, Strigunov was taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
No further details about the case or the circumstances of his detention have been released at this time
Strigunov took up the post of first deputy head of the Russian National Guard in January 2020. Before that, he commanded the troops of the Siberian District of the National Guard. In 2017, the official received the rank of colonel general.
