Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has extended his congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, noting its significance as the historic establishment of the first democratic republic in the Muslim world.
In a written message, Pellegrini described the national holiday as a moment of historic significance and praised the development of relations between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via state media.
“This significant day commemorates the historic establishment of the first democratic republic in the Muslim world and represents for the Azerbaijani people a symbol of freedom, sovereignty, and progress,” he wrote.
The Slovak president noted that ties between Bratislava and Baku had been significantly strengthened following President Aliyev’s official visit to Slovakia in December last year.
Expressing anticipation for further diplomatic engagement, Pellegrini said he looked forward to his own upcoming visit to Azerbaijan.
“I am very much looking forward to my official visit to your beautiful country, which will take place very soon. I am convinced that this mutual exchange of visits at the highest level will further deepen our relations and open new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, investments, and cultural exchange,” he wrote.
Pellegrini concluded his message by extending personal well-wishes to the Azerbaijani leader and the people of the country.
“Mr. President, please accept my sincerest wishes for strong health, personal well-being, and every success in fulfilling all the objectives of your mandate. At the same time, I wish you, as well as all the people of Azerbaijan, success, stability, and prosperity. Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,” the letter reads.
