A delegation of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA), led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tahmina Taghi-zada, attended a meeting of the Council of Europe’s Advisory Group on Education of the Anti-Doping Convention (T-DO ED) in Stratford, London.
Organized with the support of the United Kingdom Anti-Doping (UKAD), the meeting focused on the theme “Are We Ready? – Collaboration and Skills-Sharing: Identifying Gaps and Supporting Organisations.” A total of 74 participants from 35 of the 52 States Parties, as well as representatives of 12 observer states and international organizations, shared their knowledge, experience, and good practices in anti-doping education and explored ways to strengthen collaboration across the network.
Discussions focused on training and developing anti-doping education specialists, including professional standards, quality assurance, accreditation, and specialized training initiatives. Other sessions covered unintentional doping, contamination risks from food supplements and other products, promoting clean sport, and applying scientific research in practice. Experts emphasized the importance of educating athletes about preventing doping-related risks.
The event featured presentations by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Testing Agency (ITA) on the latest developments in anti-doping. Discussions focused on WADA’s international cooperation mechanisms and preparations for the 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
Participants also discussed future collaboration within the T-DO ED network and stressed the importance of strengthening anti-doping education to promote clean sport and protect athletes’ rights.
