Georgian Dream candidate wins Tbilisi mayoral election

Kakha Kaladze, the candidate from the ruling party Georgian Dream — Democratic Georgia, has secured victory in the Tbilisi mayoral elections.

According to Caliber.Az, citing data from the Central Election Commission of Georgia, after 100% of ballots were counted, Kaladze received 71.621% of the vote.

Trailing in second place was Irakli Kupradze, candidate of the opposition parties Strong Georgia and Gakharia for Georgia, who garnered 12.275% of votes. Libertarian party Girchi candidate Yago Khvichia came third with 7.624% of the vote.

The elections were held amid heightened public attention and protest activity in the capital. Following the results, Kaladze retains his position as Tbilisi mayor, a post he has held since 2017.
